Work-based learning opportunities in Welding (WOW) project aims to bridge the gap between the worlds of education and business by developing a work-based learning system for the manufacturing sector.

The objective is to set the demanded requirements for apprenticeships and in company-training to be recognized at European level, as well as at national and possibly regional level.

The third consortium meeting was organized by the TWI, in Cambridge, England, and counted with the participation of all the partners. The focus went into exchanging ideas regarding the work done so far. During the meeting, each partner presented their work responsibility and planning the future activities. This was also the opportunity to distribute tasks related to the expected results, which have to be done effectively in the upcoming months.

La profesión de soldador tiene una gran demanda. Para atraer a nuevas personas a optar por la profesión de soldadura, necesitamos programas de formación modernos y atractivos que permitan al soldador obtener una gran trayectoria profesional. Necesitamos nuevos planes de estudio vocacionales, nuevos métodos de enseñanza y herramientas didácticas de vanguardia, así como un énfasis en la educación permanente de los soldadores.

La pasada semana del 21 al 25 de Mayo, se realizó un taller de aprendizaje en el Instituto de Soldadura Italiano (IIS) situado en Génova, Italia. Fue un placer formar parte de este seminario en el que se llegaron a grandes conclusiones sobre la manera de formar a nuevos soldadores, acercando la industria a las aulas.
